Frequently Asked Questions. Answered.
What are your fees?
We provide custom quotes for each project. Our fees are based on either an hourly rate or per project basis, depending on project type and volume. Our hourly rate is currently $125 per hour, average in the commercial copywriting industry. Remember, in copywriting, as in any creative profession, you get what you pay for. Be careful of writers who do not value their time, expertise, experience and talent or do not understand the value they provide their clients.
Writers who are in demand and excel at what they do, know their value and have clients who are happy to pay for the quality of service and great copywriting.
What size businesses do you write for?
We work with businesses that have the budget and experience to understand the value professional copywriters provide their marketing initiatives. Most of our clients have 50+ employees. We serve Mid Market and welcome Fortune 500’s.
What sets you apart from other copywriters?
Our service mindset. Unfortunately, freelance writers have a reputation for being unpredictable, unreliable and notoriously good at missing deadlines. We don't work that way (in fact, that would drive us nuts). We bring a background of professional business practices to our creative work.
We know how hard it is to find freelance talent that can relate well to executives, big clients and deliver results that 'get' what you envisioned--on time, on budget and with minimal effort on your part. We know that as part of your creative team, we represent you to your board of directors, VP's and your clients. We believe the client-copywriter relationship should be easy, enjoyable and help you sleep better at night knowing that project that has been on the table for months is going to indeed meet that deadline--even if you've just hired us. We are here to serve. And it shows.
What timeframe can we expect?
We will work with your timelines. Because we limit the number of clients we take on, we are able to provide flexible timeframes in most cases. Keep in mind that the more lead time we have, the more in-depth we’ll get to know your company and the more fine-tuned your copy will be.
Can you do rush jobs?
We can, usually. Clients on retainer/regular contract are always given first priority in our scheduling. Rush jobs incur added fees, generally 50 percent of total project cost and must be paid in advance.
What information do you need from us if we hire you?
We will interview you by phone and/or email and ask you to complete our creative brief. From there, we keep in regular contact with you.
Who is your preferred contact in my company?
We generally work directly with Marketing VP’s, directors or their appointed staff. We also work directly with business owners, depending on company size.
Do you provide a guarantee?
We guarantee that our copywriting will be excellent quality and delivered on deadline. We cannot guarantee specific results. No writer can.
What methods of payment do you accept? Terms?
We accept check or money order. We require a 50 percent deposit upfront with final payment due upon completion.
We love your work and want to put you on retainer. Do you offer that?
Yes. Please contact us for more details.
We're interested in the "fixed rate" you mentioned on your site. How can we find out more? Please contact us for information on this offer.
Do you work onsite?
Generally, no. For select customers we will consider visits to corporate headquarters provided that all travel expenses are paid by the client. We do not work onsite. All work is completed at our offices and communication takes place via phone/e-mail.
We're a manufacturer that needs products branded. Do you do that? No. We specialize in creating information that relates to and with consumers. This may include service-product branding and offering branding; however, we don't specialize in branding manufactured products on an individual project basis. We will be happy to refer you to other design/copywriting firms who handle product branding.
Do you have other offices?
We offer services to European clients via our office in Sarajevo.
Do you write for non-profits?
We write for a very select number of non-profits, simply because smaller non-profits generally do not have the marketing budget to support our pricing. However, if you represent a non-profit or charitable organization and wish to obtain a quote, please do so.
When I google your name, you come up in real estate listings. Are you a real estate agent? No. Britta's name appears connected to real estate from a former management position at a private real estate firm. She is not a licensed real estate agent. However, if you are looking for a real estate agent in the luxury market, we can connect you to some great professional agents in the Brainerd Lakes, MN area.
